Meet Gigi

My name is Gigi Strong and I am the founder and creative director at SLP Events. I have been planning and executing weddings and milestone events since 2014 with an amazing team who focuses on exceptional attention to detail, collaboration and critical thinking. SLP Events team believes in being authentic, honest, and executing our clients’ vision wholeheartedly to create one-of-a-kind celebrations. Let me tell you a little about myself…

I am originally from Lithuania, a country in northeastern Europe, where I lived for 22 years of my life before moving to the United States. I grew up surrounded by a business world with my family running over a dozen of fabric stores and consistently helping them out on the weekends when I wasn’t in school or at my basketball practices (fun fact: I played basketball for 10 years of my life, and 2 of those years were in a professional team!). My parents instilled in me the core values of hard work, mindful communication, intentional listening, agility, and drive for results that helped me to be a better student and a successful athlete.

My professional career started when I began planning and executing private meetings, conferences, and special events for my college organizations. I fell in love with the process of planning, organizing, and seeing my hard work come to fruition. After graduating college, I made a decision to move across the world and get married to my best friend. The year Blake and I got married, I started the company and the rest is history. We currently live in South Carolina with our almost 3-year-old daughter Eliana, greyhound Luna, but travel frequently and extensively for work and life.

I absolutely love my job and love developing relationships with my clients, their families, and all the vendors I work with to produce successful events. My passion and mission as a wedding and event planner are to create incredible celebrations for life’s most important moments while providing my expertise and guidance to the community and people I am working with. I can’t wait to connect with you and plan your event!

Fun facts about me:

The most fun road trip I've ever taken, where and with whom? My husband and I went to Bali in 2020. It was such an amazing trip where we got to try lots of different local dishes and experience the culture and history of the island.

My favorite flower? Peonies are my favorite, I always knew I would have them in my wedding bouquet and love seeing them in my clients’’ florals.

Favorite drink on a hot summer day? Iced water infused with lemon or lime..

Favorite junk food? Pizza!!! I could eat it every single day, I love it so much!

Favorite dessert? Ice cream, any and every flavor.

Favorite book of all time? The Universe Has Your Back by Gabrielle Bernstein

Favorite type of activity? I can't pick one: I love yoga, run, and bootcamp in no particular order, depending on the mood and time of the year.
